Product Description:

It just seems to make sense to us that the design for the Hand Painted Double Bed should be simple, yet substantial.

A bit like an old Landrover, practical with lots of character but one heck of a lot more comfortable and a better paint finish!

Crafted from maple a hardwood, to provide a strong frame and smooth finish for the Farrow & Ball Estate Eggshell of your choice.

The panelled headboard is finished with an Oak shelf for a hint of characterful oak to be really appreciated.

On the practical side, the Hand Painted 4'6 Bed can be taken apart to built in situ and, the special brackets we use to build it ensure no untoward creaking in the night.

Hand Painted 4'6 Bed 148 x 94 x 202 cm £731.00

A simple, wholesome design with a panelled head featuring an angled oak top . The design is complimented by the European Oak used by Four Corners. It is cut through and through to show the maximum amount of character while the maple provides a strong, smooth surface for us to hand paint it the Farrow & Ball Estate Eggshell colour of your choice.

The Maple & Oak Hand Painted bed has strong pine central column and slats to support the mattress.

This mattress support is cunningly lower than the bed rails to ensure the mattress sits inside the frame securely. In addition, there is a gap between the frame and a mattress, to get your fingers in when making your bed. These two often overlooked simple features ensure the bed is a design classic.

We use European Oak & Maple sourced from the Carpathian Mountains that surround our workshop, to create the Four Corners Hand Painted range.

We passionately believe each item of furniture we craft should celebrate the true character and natural beauty of wood. Using Farrow & Ball Estate Eggshell paint provides a great foil to the wood.

The European Oak top on the headboard will be full of character obtained through utilising the natural variations in oak timber, we especially look for strong grain, knots, medullary rays (as often seen in antique pieces) and variations in the colour.

This results in a piece of furniture as unique as the trees it has been crafted from. For more information about the wood we use please click here.

The Oak is finished in Danish Oil. This natural oil highlights the beauty of the wood as well as feeding and protecting it. For more information about caring for your furniture please click here.

As cabinet makers we have a vast wealth of experience in producing stable pieces that do not move or crack. We have minimised this movement by using kiln dried oak frames and where needed a high quality veneer panel, which will never crack. The oak veneer we use has a high grade layer of oak on both the inside and the outside. It is used in the panels of the headboard in this bed.
